The theory of dynamic resource orchestration explains the differentiated response homogeneous ecosystem organizations to systemic disruptive shocks. Covid-19 precautionary measures in Kenya have exempted some essential service providers and government agencies, resulting a impact across national SMEs landscape. This article adopted an extractive thematic analysis technique draw insights from in-depth interviews discussions with owners managers 6 broad-range considered non-essential services excluded cessation movement waiver. advanced on SMEs' resilience through capability. It sought establish whether possession resources capabilities highly resilient non-resilient ones. identified business diversification, slack finance, intra-stakeholder collaboration, self-reinvention, positive psychology, technology leverage, cost management as precursory agents within Kenyan SMEs. Research gaps were identified, recommendations for future research proposed.
